Klangfeiler Iron-On Hem Tape, Black — 3/4" x 32 yd, Heavy-Duty
Product description
This product is a reinforced iron-on hemming tape supplied in black, sized at 3/4 inch (about 19 mm) wide and offered as a 32-yard roll — roughly 30 meters of adhesive web. The tape is heavier than many competitors, rated at 60 GSM versus the more common 15–30 GSM options, which increases its grip and durability on hems.
It’s designed for general household sewing jobs: shortening curtains, taking up trousers, repairing hems on skirts and other fabric edges. The tape bonds fabric layers when heated; press with a dry or steamed iron according to the printed guidance on the reverse side of the roll.
Included with the roll are application instructions printed directly on the backing, so you have step-by-step guidance without needing extra paperwork. For precise results you can cut the tape into smaller lengths, position it between folded hems, and apply steady heat and pressure to activate the adhesive.
Because of its heavier GSM and substantial length, a single roll will cover many projects and should last a long time for household mending and temporary hemming needs.
Pros
- High-strength 60 GSM adhesive
- Large 32 yd roll for many jobs
- Instructions printed on backing
Cons
- Only available in black
- May need steam for some fabrics
- Not a permanent sewn hem
VerdictA robust iron-on hem tape that delivers a firmer hold than typical lightweight webs. Its 60 GSM construction gives it more staying power on hems for curtains, trousers and similar projects. Easy to apply with a household iron and accompanied by printed instructions, it’s a practical option when you need a fast, clean finish without sewing.

Does the job without issues.

Excellent for trousers
Worked perfectly on viscose, linen and cotton; steam helps. I cut small pieces for accuracy and the outside shows no sign of the fix.

The tape sticks firmly to fabric and holds well once pressed.

Saved my curtain alteration
I’d never done this before but used it to shorten curtains by ironing the hem. They look much neater — fingers crossed it endures.
