Double-Fold Bias Tape 1" x 10 yd — Dark Blue Polyester/Cotton
Product description
This listing is for one double-fold bias tape roll intended for sewing and finishing projects. Package contents: 1 roll of double-fold bias tape. Width: 1 inch (25 mm). Length: 10 yards. Color: dark blue. Material: polyester-cotton blend.
The tape is cut on the bias and folded so the two outer edges are equal and meet at the center fold, giving a neat double-fold finish. It has minimal stretch — it’s not an elastic — and is designed for stitching into seams and hems rather than for stretch applications. The edges are bevel-cut to help the tape lie smoothly around curves and corners.
The fabric is soft rather than stiff; it becomes even softer after washing and generally does not require ironing. It is colorfast, odorless, and can be laundered by hand or machine without noticeable fading. Because it’s polyester-rich, it won’t behave like pure cotton but is still easy to handle.
Use this tape for binding and trimming straight or curved raw edges, hemming garments, finishing quilts, aprons, hats, ties, placemats and similar craft or home-sewn items. It pairs well with cottons, polyesters, canvas, linen and some leathers.
Note: due to how bias tape is produced and the total length, the roll may include one or more joins rather than being one uninterrupted strand, but the tape is robust and suitable for regular sewing and finishing tasks.
Pros
- Ready-folded for quick hemming and binding
- Colorfast and machine-washable
- Works well on curves and corners
Cons
- Polyester-cotton blend instead of pure cotton
- May contain joins — not a single continuous strand
- Can be thin or unevenly cut in some rolls
VerdictA versatile, easy-to-use double-fold bias tape offered in a 1" width and 10-yard length. It’s polyester-based, colorfast and machine-washable, making it handy for binding quilts, garments and other sewn edges. While it isn’t elastic and may have occasional joins, it handles corners and curves well and is soft after laundering. A practical choice when you need a dependable, ready-folded tape in a s

Not as pictured; some stains
Different from the photos. First fold was shallow and the fabric is thin so prints can show through. When refolding to full width I found white stains on the black roll that wouldn’t wipe off.

Holds shape, no fraying
Surprised at the value. It stays folded, resists fraying and has a little give for rounding corners. Liked it enough to order a second roll.

Handy roll for projects
Perfect for my project — the roll format made application quick. One roll covered about 4½ yards per piece, so I avoided piecing. Dark blue matched well.

Good, budget-friendly tape
Exactly as described and served my purpose. I would have preferred cotton but knew it was a polyester blend. Color matched perfectly and shipping was prompt.

Color spot-on but uneven cut
Shade matched exactly, which mattered most. Unfortunately it wasn’t cut evenly, so I had to stitch very close to the coat edge. Beginners may struggle with the inconsistency.
