Switchable Arrow Welding Magnets — 2-Pack (66–110 lb Hold)
Product description
Package contents and basic specs: This set includes two switchable arrow-style welding magnets. Each unit contains a built-in permanent magnet assembly and a manual on/off actuator. The manufacturer rates the holding force up to 66–110 lb (about 30–50 kg) depending on surface contact and orientation.
Design and materials: The magnets are housed in a molded, durable casing built to resist everyday shop wear. The arrow profile is intended to let you rest and hold workpieces at common angles — 45°, 90° and 135° — to free both hands for welding, soldering or tacking.
How to use: Flip the external switch to turn the magnetic field on, place the magnet on a clean ferrous surface, then position the workpiece against the arrow faces to secure it. Flip the switch off to neutralize the field and remove or relocate the magnet with minimal effort.
Applications and handling: These positioners are designed for welding alignment, pipe layout, marking-off tasks and general fit-up on ferrous metals. Their size and weight aim to strike a balance between portability and gripping capacity, but performance depends on contact area, surface condition and load direction. Avoid dropping units and keep the switch area clean to maintain reliable operation.
Pros
- Angle versatility for 45°, 90° and 135° positioning
- On/off switch for quick attachment and removal
- Compact two-piece set for general welding and fit-up
Cons
- Real-world holding force may be lower than rated
- Susceptible to damage if dropped
- Switch area and label may collect debris or peel
VerdictThese switchable arrow welding magnets offer useful angle positioning and the convenience of an on/off magnetic switch, making them handy for welding, soldering, marking and basic assembly tasks. They’re well suited for hobbyists and light industrial jobs where quick placement and hands-free alignment matter. Expect solid peak holding capacity on clean ferrous surfaces, but some users report actua

Solid daily tool
Good quality. I use them at work every day.

Disappointed by the strength
Bought these for a weekend job. They arrived on time but when I tested them on a steel table the hold was easily overcome by hand. A small 25 lb magnet I own gripped much better. Not close to the claimed 66–110 lb, so I’m returning them.

Very poor performance
Terrible magnets. Claimed 66–110 lb is nowhere near true; feels more like 10 lb. Won’t buy again.

Useful but fragile
The switch feature is handy and holding power is fine for hobby work. Mine cracked after a fall from bench height — don’t drop them.

Gets the job done
Held 1/4" wall 2" x 2" steel off the table. They scorch and stain easier than higher-end brands, but overall worth the savings.

Starts out fine, then degrades
They work initially but the stickers peel and the switch can get gummed up, making it hard to operate if used a lot.

Claimed 44 lb seems optimistic
They work for light tasks, but the advertised numbers are generous. I could lift a camping hatchet slowly, but any rough movement would likely drop it—so be cautious.

Works well for me
Perfect for my needs.

Switch seems underpowered
A little weak.

Not extremely strong
Arrived fast and do the basic job, just not as powerful as I expected. Good for a budget option.
