Leather Stitching Punch Set — Diamond Chisel Irons (1/2/4/6 Prong, 5mm)
Product description
Dimensions and weight: prong spacing 5mm, prong width 2.5mm, prong length 8.5mm, overall tool length 100mm, individual tool weight about 110g.
Material and build: each chisel is forged from white steel. The metal is polished and the handle smoothed for a comfortable grip. The cutting ends are shaped as rhombus-style teeth to pierce leather cleanly.
What’s in the package: one 1-prong, one 2-prong, one 4-prong and one 6-prong diamond chisel; a rigid plastic storage box; a velvet draw pouch; and a short instruction leaflet. Suitable for newcomers and experienced leatherworkers needing a compact set.
Pre-shipment treatment and care: every piece is coated with a rust-inhibiting oil for transit — wipe each tool with a clean cloth before first use. The tines are polished sharp for easy punching; for heavy or long-term work, occasional honing and proper storage will prolong edge life.
Use and performance: hold the tool close to the cutting tips for control, strike with a mallet to drive the chisel through leather, then remove the tines. The polished faces help eject remnants and make cleanup straightforward. These irons are ideal for hand-stitched projects and general leathercraft.
Pros
- Sharp diamond-shaped tines for clean, consistent holes
- Includes multiple prong sizes plus case and pouch
- Comfortably finished handles for accurate striking
Cons
- White steel is softer than hardened tool steel
- Requires wiping to remove shipping oil before use
- Handles are relatively short for some striking techniques
VerdictA compact, well-finished starter set of diamond pricking irons for stitching leather. The white-steel tines produce clean, evenly spaced holes and the set includes a storage box and soft pouch. Not a lifetime professional tool, but sharp, comfortable to strike, and excellent for beginners and hobbyists who want dependable performance out of the box.

Excellent finish on the chisel tips
The diamond tips are nicely polished and cut cleanly. I have several sizes and both 4mm and 5mm perform well. The handles are fine if you hold the tool near the tips for control before striking.

Very sharp and effective for my hat project
I’m new to leatherwork and picked these up to make stitch holes for a hat. They slice through with a few mallet strikes, feel comfortable in hand, and leave holes just the right size for waxed thread. Really pleased with how well they perform.

Not the size I expected, but they work
I ordered expecting a 4.0mm spacing but received 2mm tines instead. Four stars because the set is useful and I needed 2mm tools anyway, but the labeling was incorrect.

Better than I expected
Needed something quick and affordable and these surprised me. They feel well made, the edges are sharp and they cut neat, removable holes. Solid little pricking irons — I’ll buy other sizes from this line.

Great value for hobbyists and learners
I’ve used these across a few projects over two years. They are sharp and uniform, ideal for beginners. They won’t last forever under heavy use, but they’re lightweight, easy to use, and do the job well.

Okay for a budget starter set
Affordable and decent finish between tines. For constant use I’d upgrade to harder steel, but these are fine for a quick project. I smoothed my tines and they improved. Metal is a bit soft and edges dull sooner.

Useful cutter with storage
Exactly what I needed; includes a soft pouch and case. One issue was a cracked case on arrival, so it couldn’t be fully closed.

Perfect for learning to stitch leather
Started my first stitching project with these chisels. The spacing and bite were just what I needed to practice and refine technique.

Sharp, compact punches
Very sharp—I nicked myself while using them. Smooth forks and mostly easy to remove; nice case and bag. I’d prefer slightly longer handles to protect knuckles from the mallet.
