AD5X Upgraded 0.4mm Nozzle Kit — 2 Packs with Brushes & Silicone Socks
Product description
This replacement kit contains two complete 0.4mm nozzle assemblies, two silicone hotend socks and two small cleaning brushes. Each assembly is an integrated nozzle-and-throat unit designed to eliminate filament leaks that can occur with threaded joins or aging seals.
The hot block is an upgraded copper alloy component that accelerates heating and provides steady thermal conductivity for consistent melt zones and repeatable extrusion. The assemblies are all-metal and intended for heavy-duty use in enclosed setups.
Performance-wise the nozzles are rated to support printing speeds up to 600 mm/s and a high volumetric throughput around 32 mm³/s, delivering substantially faster extrusion rates than typical consumer nozzles. The hotend can be used at high temperatures — engineered to withstand up to 550°C with reliable operation above 300°C to accommodate engineering-grade materials.
Material compatibility includes PLA, ABS, PETG, ASA, PVA, TPU (64D), and PC, making the kit versatile for general-purpose and specialty filament work. The silicone socks protect the heater block and improve cleanup while the included brushes help maintain the melt zone and outer nozzle surface between swaps.
Installation uses an improved, non-traditional mounting style that speeds up swaps versus conventional threaded replacements. Important: this installation method is compatible only with AD5X units manufactured after May 31, 2025.
The integrated design and robust construction make these assemblies suitable as on-hand spares for users who want to quickly replace a clogged or damaged hotend and resume prints without lengthy troubleshooting.
Pros
- Fast, tool-free swap for modern AD5X units
- High-flow capability for quicker prints
- Includes socks and brushes for maintenance
Cons
- Compatibility limited to AD5X models made after May 31, 2025
- May require thermal paste attention at heat break
- Not a drop-in for older threaded designs
VerdictA practical spare-part bundle for AD5X owners who run demanding prints. The kit’s one-piece nozzle/throat reduces leaks, the copper heat block improves thermal stability, and the included socks and brushes simplify maintenance. Suited for high-speed, high-temperature printing with a wide range of filaments; a good option to keep on the bench to minimize downtime.

Aquaman 5/5
Useful to assign nozzles by filament
I gave each filament type a dedicated nozzle — one for PLA, one for PETG, one for TPU — which helped avoid cross-contamination. They’ve held up through months of regular printing and provide good value with two complete units in the pack.

Handy spares for when a nozzle fails
Eventually mine clogged and popped, so I keep spares on hand. These replacement assemblies look well made and perform like the original parts. Having the silicone socks included is useful since those often get wrecked during a nozzle failure.

Performs like the original
Clean replacements that match OEM performance. Nice to have extras available, and the included silicone bumpers are a welcome addition.

Keep extras and mind thermal paste
Swapping these is simple — good design. One tip: don’t forget to apply thermal paste at the heat break lug when installing to ensure proper thermal contact.

Easy swap, reliable in use
The integrated heater block design made installation straightforward and the 0.4mm nozzles produced consistent extrusion. Two complete hotends plus brushes and socks make maintenance quick and keep downtime low.

True drop-in replacements
Swapping in a fresh assembly is much faster than attempting lengthy unclogs. These seat cleanly on my AD5X and feel solid. They’ve run smoothly with PLA and PETG and heat evenly without flow oddities so far.

Great for heavy-use setups
I run multiple printers and a bad clog is easier to solve by replacing the hotend. These fit well, installed quickly, and produced excellent results with PLA and PETG. The kit’s brushes and socks add to the value.
