NECABLES Keystone Jack Punchdown Stand Kit — Stand + Punch/Strip Tool
Product description
This kit contains two items: one keystone punchdown puck and one compact punch/strip impact tool. The puck provides a stable base for terminating keystone jacks, making it easier to position and punch wires without holding the jack in your hand. The puck accepts common keystone orientations and helps protect finished surfaces while you work.
The housing of the stand is molded from high-impact engineering plastic in black, providing a hard, scratch-resistant surface that resists cracking under regular use. The stand measures approximately 3.9" × 2.0" × 1.0" and includes multiple ports: Port A is sized for 180° keystone jacks, Port B fits 90° keystone jacks, and Port C accommodates Australian-style keystone modules. It is compatible with most keystone jacks on the market as well as telephone and Ethernet modulars like RJ11, RJ12, and RJ45.
The small impact tool combines a sharp carbon-steel blade with a yellow ABS plastic body. It measures roughly 3.5" × 1.2" × 0.2" and is designed to punch wires into 110-style blocks and keystone terminations. The same tool also functions as a jacket stripper suitable for CAT5E, CAT6 and CAT6A cables, allowing one-turn jacket removal without nicking conductors when used carefully.

Pros
- Securely holds keystone jacks during termination
- Compact punch/strip tool included for cable prep
- Durable high-impact plastic stand
Cons
- Does not trim excess wire after punching
- Not a substitute for professional auto-cut punchdown tools
- Keystones can be fussy to seat in some slots
VerdictA practical little kit for hobbyists and small network jobs. The puck keeps keystones steady while you seat pairs, and the included punch/strip tool handles cable jacket removal and seating into 110-style blocks. It’s built from tough engineering plastic and a steel blade, so it’s useful for occasional terminations, though it doesn’t trim wire tails like pricier automatic punchdown tools. Good val

Handled a batch of 16 cleanly
Both pieces performed well. The stand gripped the keystones solidly — I terminated 16 180° modules using the center slot — which made positioning and punching straightforward. The stripper removed the CAT6A jacket in one turn without nicking the conductors and worked fine to seat the wires into the jacks.

Does the stripping job; stand can be finicky
The punch/strip tool stripped cable jackets reasonably well. I didn’t use the punch function, and I had a bit of trouble keeping some keystones seated in the block, but I managed to make it work.

Simple and reliable for small projects
Fits standard keystone connectors and the holder was dependable. Used it for a home network and it met my needs. Note that the handheld punch doesn’t trim the excess conductors, so if you need that feature you’ll want an upgraded tool. Good value for under 24 terminations.

Basic, but quality seems fine
Quality is good.

Well-made but not essential
The stand is solidly built, yet you can manage by hand for occasional terminations. Other kits include strippers, though many won't handle CAT6A or CAT7 cleanly.

Niche tool that saves surfaces and fingers
In finished office and apartment spaces this kit is handy. I can set the puck on a knee or a bag and do punchdowns without marking floors. It holds the keystone while I arrange pairs and prevents slips that could stab a palm. Small but very useful on tight jobs.

Does the job as advertised
I didn't use the yellow stripper much — bought it mainly for the puck. It prevents surface marks and reduces the risk of stabbing yourself during punchdowns, which is the main benefit for me.

Good enough for occasional DIY jobs
I was doing about ten home runs and only use punchdown tools rarely. This set won’t auto-cut trimmed wire, but it saved me buying a more expensive tool. The stripper does its job and the plastic stand is sturdy enough to stop accidental slips. For small, infrequent tasks I’d buy it again; for larger projects I’d choose a real punchdown tool.

Massively easier than holding with a screwdriver
I used to hold jacks with one hand and punch with a screwdriver, which led to slips and cuts. This stand holds the jack steady and helps lay the cable flat so wires don’t pop out. Included stripper/punch tool feels sturdier than expected. Big improvement for speed and safety.
