TRIXIE Natura Portable Wooden Duck Coop — Brown Duck House
Product description
New shelter for backyard waterfowl: this wooden duck house is designed as a nesting and resting spot for up to four lightweight ducks, giving them a private place to roost and lay.
Small but functional: the unit includes barred ventilation openings for airflow and a front panel that folds down to form a ramp for easy entry and exit. A hinged top provides convenient access to the interior for cleaning or egg collection.
Easy to relocate: built with recessed carry grips on both sides, the coop can be moved as needed without disturbing the birds. It’s constructed from natural, eco-friendly fir wood treated for animal use.
Fit and compatibility: the assembled footprint measures 29.5" x 36.5" x 27.5"—ideal where space is limited. While designed for ducks, it can also accommodate small poultry such as chickens, quails, and other small critters like rabbits or guinea pigs. An enclosed run that pairs with this model is available separately.
Pros
- Hinged roof and ramp-style front door for easy access
- Lightweight with recessed grips for portability
- Made from natural fir wood suitable for animals
Cons
- Build and hardware feel delicate
- Wood is relatively soft and may split
- May require reinforcement for long-term use
VerdictA lightweight, transportable wooden shelter that suits small, free-range ducks and other petite poultry. It offers simple features—ventilation holes, a ramp-style front door and a liftable roof—for practical day-to-day use. Construction and fittings feel delicate, so it’s best for gentle, covered use or owners willing to reinforce weak points.

Quick to assemble; ducks enjoy it
Putting it together was straightforward and our ducks use it. It seems a bit fragile if you frequently pull out the bottom tray, so I clean through the top instead.

Decent footprint but weak materials
Sizing is good, but the fir is very soft and splits easily. Instructions were confusing, and the pull-out tray is awkward. I wouldn’t buy it again.

Poor quality; arrived broken
Very cheap materials and not secure. Two pieces were already damaged out of the box. I don’t recommend it.

Damaged on delivery; wood too flimsy
Arrived with cracked and splintered panels. Too fragile for a large turkey—really only suited to a couple of small ducks. Wood feels very soft. Would not recommend.

Useful size but poor fastenings
Good footprint and easy to move, but the screws on the removable tray were stripped and falling out. Overall the finish and fittings are disappointing.

Kids helped build; occasional use by ducks
Assembly was simple and my kids enjoyed helping. The ducks used it intermittently, so it worked fine for our situation.

Roomy for three Pekins
Plenty of space for our three Pekin ducks and a small overnight water bowl. They can move around and use it for laying. It’s a bit wobbly so we’ll add brackets, but assembly was easy and it serves our needs.

Started fine, then failed after a few months
I used this in a covered run for two Pekin ducks. Assembly went okay until fitting the roof hinges — the hinge placements weren’t marked and when I closed the lid a side panel shattered. I removed the hinges and tried to brace it, but the soft wood and weak joints meant I kept patching it with bolts and extra hardware. After about 2–3 months it began to come apart more, and under a few months it collapsed into a pile; I ultimately replaced it. If you plan light, sheltered use and will reinforce joints, it can work briefly, but it doesn’t hold up well over time.
