Retractable Bow & Gear Hoist — 29.5 ft Rope with Crank Handle
Product description
This retractable hoist arrives as a ready-to-use unit: the housing contains a rewind mechanism with a crank handle, a 29.5 ft high-density nylon line, and a metal clip on the back for attaching to a belt or harness. There is also a dedicated hole in the case if you want to add a secondary tether or carabiner for extra security.
The cord is constructed from dense nylon for durability and sufficient length to reach from ground level into a tree stand. The compact case measures about 3.5" x 2.5" x 0.5", making it easy to carry clipped to your belt or stowed in a pack without getting in the way.
Operation is straightforward: hang your gear from the rope, let the line pay out as you climb, secure the hoist to your person or platform, then pull the item up once you’re in place. When finished, use the crank to tidy the line back into the housing so it doesn’t trail on the ground or snag on brush.
The case incorporates a grooved surface for added friction so the housing is less likely to slip when clipped in place. That same feature helps minimize noise when winding the cord; avoid pressing excessively on the crank while rewinding to reduce any unwanted sound in quiet environments.
Safety note: the plastic crank is intended for rewinding the rope into the housing and for light adjustments. Do not rely on the plastic handle to lift heavy loads. Always check attachment points and the weight of items before raising them.
Pros
- Long 29.5 ft high-density nylon line
- Compact housing clips to belt or harness
- Crank rewinds cord to prevent tangles
Cons
- Plastic crank not designed for heavy lifting
- Outer housing can feel bulky in small pockets
- Not suited for very heavy or industrial loads
VerdictA practical, compact hoist that simplifies lifting and stowing bow and hunting equipment while climbing or from a tree stand. The 29.5 ft high-density nylon cord and metal clip provide enough reach and secure attachment; the crank rewind and grooved housing reduce tangles and noise. Not intended for hauling very heavy loads using the plastic crank—use the clip and rope for lifting, not the handle.

Handy for climbing with gear
This retractable hoist has been a great help when I climb with lots of equipment. The cord pays out smoothly as I move and then lets me raise my pack and bow once I’m positioned, so I don’t have to carry everything up at once. It reduces awkward bending and large movements on the stand. The 29.5 ft nylon line feels durable, the metal clip fastens to my belt easily, and the unit’s small size means it doesn’t get in the way. When finished, I just use the crank to wind the rope back in.

Retractable design really reduces clutter
What sold me was the contained line: no extra slack dragging on the ground or getting tangled. The rope unspools only as needed while I climb, then I can haul gear up without hauling it up on my back. The nylon line provides plenty of length for my setups, and the metal clip plus the extra attachment hole give flexible mounting options. Solid, simple, and worth having.

Useful, compact addition to my kit
Once I got the hang of it, extending and retracting the line is effortless. The compact profile fits nicely in my gear bag without taking up space, and the build feels sturdy enough for regular outdoor use. I mainly use it to lift and lower packs and other items, and it’s made those tasks quicker and less awkward than carrying everything by hand.

Smooth action and tangle-free operation
Setup was quick—clip it to my harness or the platform and the cord pulls out without binding. The spring tension retracts the line neatly when released, keeping everything tidy instead of a loose rope catching on brush. The carabiner secures well to my bow limb. The only minor drawback is the plastic casing is a bit bulky for tight pockets, but I just clip it to my belt and it works great.

Well-built and easy to use
I found it simple to learn and operate. The retractable format makes storing and handling the hoist much easier than a loose line. Materials feel more robust than I expected and the cable and mechanisms move smoothly while lifting. The long reach gives good flexibility in positioning gear. After several uses I’m pleased with the quality and reliability.

Practical around the yard and shop
I started using this to lift lighter tools and storage bins in my garage instead of lugging a ladder back and forth. It saves time and the retract mechanism keeps the cord neat when idle. Operation is intuitive: secure the unit, confirm the attachment and item weight, then raise slowly. It’s not for very heavy loads, but for small items it’s highly practical.
