Frosted Static-Cling Window Privacy Film with Application Kit
Product description
Included application kit and tools: Each package ships with three application aids — a refillable spray bottle, a top-lock utility knife for trimming, and a long-handle scraper for smoothing. The scraper's extended grip is more comfortable than a small card squeegee and helps push out trapped air during fitting.
Material and appearance: The material starts semi-transparent in your hands and transforms into a frosted, etched look once applied to glass. It creates a decorative, diffused finish that cuts glare and produces small prismatic highlights when direct sunlight hits it. The film is made to simulate frosted glass while allowing soft natural illumination.
Sun protection and safety: The film is engineered to block up to 96% of damaging UV rays, helping to protect skin and slow fading of furniture and fabrics. Because it reduces harsh sun and glare, interiors feel cooler and more comfortable. The film also reduces bird strikes by breaking up reflectivity that confuses birds.
Attachment and reusability: This product uses static cling rather than adhesive. To install, liberally mist both the glass and the film backing with water, position the film, then squeegee out excess liquid and air. It adheres firmly without glue and can be peeled off and reapplied multiple times without losing grip, making it suitable for renters.
Light control and applications: The frosted surface softens direct light, decreasing glare and producing a gentle ambient glow that is office- and plant-friendly. It’s commonly used on windows, glass doors, shower panels and garage door panes to add privacy while keeping rooms bright. Rolls are offered in multiple widths and lengths to fit different openings and can be trimmed to size during installation.

Blocks view from outside
Keeps people from seeing inside the house. Good value for what it does.

Good for garage door windows, reduces some heat
I applied this to the overhead door windows in my garage. I noticed a slight drop in the afternoon heat when the sun hits directly. Installation was tedious and I worked hard to remove bubbles, but the included tools helped and the final result looks fine. It darkens the space a bit but not dramatically. Satisfied with the outcome.

Product differed from listing
No 3D or crystal effect on what I received — just a standard decal. Also ordered three rolls and two came with different patterns, which was annoying.

Not colorful on its own
The film itself isn’t colorful; you only see colors when bright or colored light passes through it.

Quality seems inconsistent
Others mentioned similar issues — I got a version that didn’t match the advertised look and felt lower quality. Not entirely trustworthy right now.

Nice decorative option with moderate privacy
I used this where my window faced an alley and didn’t want curtains. It’s honest about privacy — maybe 6–7/10. If the interior is lit and it’s dark outside you can make out shapes, but if it’s brighter outside it obscures views well. Applied cleanly once I followed the directions, and the effect is very pretty, with small rainbows around bright lights.

Beautiful and durable — still looks great after two years
I’ve had this on my window for two years and it’s held up perfectly. Installation took some patience but wasn’t too difficult. In direct sun it throws a pretty rainbow, though if it’s dark outside and your lights are on you can still be seen. During daylight it provides good visual screening and lots of compliments. It’s never peeled off or caused trouble — very happy with it.

Does what it says — needs water to stick
It’s just film; it won’t cling without spraying water on the glass and squeegeeing it smooth. When sunlight hits it directly you can get rainbows on the walls in the morning.

Sturdy and great for damaged door panes
We applied this to a multi-pane door with scratched plexiglass and cracked glass. The film felt thicker and tougher than brands we’ve used before, so cutting with a blade was harder; we measured and trimmed with scissors instead. It adhered well to all panes. For a second door we used parchment templates and a soapy solution plus a short squeegee — worked very well.

Pleasant effect, not as blocking as photos imply
I nearly returned it because the photos suggest heavy blocking and 3D crystal effects. In direct sunlight the prism effect is vivid; otherwise it’s mostly subtle pink tones. I kept it and am glad — it throws colorful highlights on white surfaces and brightens areas. Read the instructions: there’s a protective backing to peel before applying.

Simple to use, renter-friendly and delightful
This has been a joy to watch as sun moves across the floor and hallway — little rainbows grow throughout the day. At night it shimmers from outside when lights are on. Despite having no adhesive, it stayed in place when my dogs jumped at the window. Easy to install and very durable; great for renters.
