1.75mm ABS 3D Printer Filament — 3kg Black, Heat & Impact Resistant
Product description
High-strength, heat-tolerant ABS — This filament is formulated for parts that must endure mechanical stress and higher temperatures. Its Vicat softening point is around 104°C, making it suitable for functional prototypes, fixtures and components exposed to warmer conditions.
Low-odor formulation — Produced from a bulk-polymerized ABS resin with reduced volatile compounds, the material emits noticeably less smell during extrusion compared with conventional ABS grades, while retaining the material properties expected from ABS.
Designed for practical and mechanical uses — The blend works well for robotics parts, tooling, replacement components and other engineering-focused prints. It balances impact resistance, thermal performance and post-processing options like machining or sanding.
Printing guidance — Recommended extrusion temperature is in the 245–265°C range, with the heated bed set to about 90–100°C. Turn off active part cooling during printing to improve layer adhesion. For larger or warp-prone models, an enclosed chamber is advised to keep ambient temperatures stable.
Packaging and handling — Supplied as 1.75mm filament on a 3kg spool, vacuum-sealed with desiccant to limit moisture pickup. If the filament becomes damp, restore consistent printing by drying at 70°C for roughly six hours before use.
Pros
- High heat resistance and impact strength
- Lower odor than standard ABS
- Vacuum-sealed 3kg spool for long prints
Cons
- Requires high nozzle temps and heated bed
- Heavier spool may need a stable holder
- Prone to warping without enclosure
VerdictThis 1.75mm ABS filament is aimed at users who need durable, heat-resistant prints for functional or mechanical applications. It uses a specialty bulk-polymerized resin to cut down on printing smells without sacrificing toughness. Best results come from high nozzle temperatures, a heated bed, and an enclosed printer to limit warping. The 3kg spool is convenient for long runs, but heavier reels may

Good choice if you run large spools
If you can accommodate a 3kg reel, it reduces spool swaps and this material prints well.

Less spool changes and waste
Buying a 3kg reel means fewer mid-print spool swaps and less leftover scrap at the end of the roll.

Solid performance, not exceptional value
Prints work well, but it’s comparable to cheaper alternatives I've used — good, but not standout for the cost.

Occasional bad spools
Most spools are fine, but every so often one arrives poorly wound with overlapping coils and it ruined a long print.

Spool design failed on me
After years of using smaller spools without issue, this larger reel disintegrated on the spindle, causing filament to tangle, halt a print and damage my Bowden tube. The full spool also lacked an effective lip so coils slipped easily. Feels like a poor choice of spool construction for the heavier weight.

Needed a spool carrier and higher temps
This reel wouldn’t fit inside my enclosure so I had to use an external carrier and guide it around an empty spool. Also had to raise nozzle temps into the mid-260s to get consistent extrusion, after which prints improved dramatically.

Missing remaining-filament indicator
Quality is high, but it would be more convenient if the spool had markings or a window to show how much material is left.

Reliable manufacturer and helpful support
Consistently good filament from this maker. Their documentation is clear and their support team responds quickly when problems arise.

Prints nicely until the filament broke
Initial prints were excellent, but during a long overnight job the filament snapped at the spool and the end was fused to the reel. Not sure how it happened; I’ll stick to smaller spools for now.
