Damaged my cassette — be careful
This unit chewed up an expensive tape and produced poor sound and recording quality. I’d recommend spending more for a reliable player.

Good for emergency or offline listening
I love it — perfect for when power is out. Headphones really help you lock into the music; get a decent pair for best results.

Plays 50-year-old family tapes with very good speech intelligibility. I’m pleased with the results.

Great value and classic sound
Functions like my old Walkman—clear audio and solid build. Perfect for budget-minded buyers.

Solid build but risky with tapes
Sturdy feeling and decent sound through the included earbuds and speaker. Radio controls are fiddly and the recorder didn’t work for me. It did pull in a cassette once, so handle tapes cautiously.

Performs reliably and meets basic needs.

Excellent playback; recorder may be faulty
Radio and tape playback exceeded my expectations for the price. However, I can’t get the unit to record onto my Sony HF-90 tapes; the recording function won’t engage.

Good for the price
Does what it promises — plays tapes well. Radio depends on location and the bundled earbuds are inexpensive but replaceable.

Perfect retro companion
As an ’80s kid, this brings back the Walkman feel. Sound quality is excellent and the belt clip is a welcome throwback.

Stopped working after a few days
Worked initially but failed after about four days and the radio went erratic. I don’t recommend it; consider a higher-quality option.
