Digital Puppy & Small Pet Scale — Mini Tray Weighing Scale
Product description
Purpose and capacity
This compact digital scale is built for weighing newborn cats, puppies and other small animals where small weight changes matter. The removable tray is 11.4 inches long and the scale's capacity is 15 kg (33 lb). It is not intended for full-size adult cats or medium/large dogs.
What's included and setup
The unit ships with a molded tray and a matching base that lock together via adhesive pads. Before attaching the tray, remove the two protective films from the adhesive strips and press the tray firmly to the base so it won't tip or slide when a restless pet moves. The scale takes 2 AAA batteries (not included). Some sellers bundle small collars, umbilical clamps and a paper record pad for tracking weights, but battery power is required to operate the display.
Accuracy and operation
Resolution is approximately 1 gram, and you can toggle between metric (g) and imperial (oz) units. Use the ZERO/tare function before placing an animal or a towel on the tray to ensure an accurate reading. The scooped design helps animals lie more comfortably for measurement, and readings appear within seconds.
Where to use and tips
Ideal for home use, foster care, whelping, and quick clinic checks. For best results place the scale on a stable, level surface such as a table or hard floor—avoid carpets or uneven ground. If the pet is fidgety, taring a lightweight towel or blanket can help get a steadier measurement. Confirm the tray dimensions against your animal’s length before purchase to avoid size mismatch.
Pros
- Fine ~1 g resolution for precise monitoring
- Compact, scooped tray helps animals settle
- Dual units (grams/ounces) and fast readout
Cons

- Requires firm surface and careful setup for best accuracy
- Batteries not included
VerdictA useful, budget-friendly digital scale for breeders and pet owners tracking early growth of tiny animals. It offers fine resolution (about 1 g), dual units (grams/ounces), and a scooped tray to help pets settle. Tray length and max load (11.4" / 33 lb) limit it to neonates and very small adults. Proper setup on a firm surface and attaching the tray to the base (peel protective films first) are ke

Handy for tracking puppy growth
Simple to operate and made it easy to confirm each pup was gaining weight. Size was right for very young puppies and the display was clear.

Tray too short for my cat
The length wasn't clarified well — my cat was too long to fit comfortably.

Would purchase again
Pleasantly surprised by its usefulness. It measures reliably and the small extras (collars, clamps and a record pad) were handy for tracking newborns.

Works well for small rabbits
Easy to clean and read. The scooped tray lets my small rabbit settle for a reliable weekly weight check.

Very sensitive unit
Accurate but fussy — if the pups move the reading jumps. Taring a small towel helped when they were sleepy.

Too small for me
Sent it back — the tray was smaller than I expected and didn't suit my pet.

Frustrating — top won't stay put
Top tray kept popping off when pups moved, so weighing in grams was difficult. It didn’t lock securely for active babies; I switched to a different setup.
