Covercraft UVS100 Custom Windshield Sunshade for Silverado/Sierra/Tahoe/Yukon
Product description
FITMENT: Designed for 1999–2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra; 2000–2006 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban; 2000–2006 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL; 2002–2006 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV/EXT; and 2002–2006 Chevrolet Avalanche.
SUN AND HEAT PROTECTION: Engineered to block up to 99% of ultraviolet radiation to help prevent dashboard, seat, and trim fading or cracking. The reflective outer surface and insulated core reduce heat transfer into the cabin so the interior stays noticeably cooler on hot days.
CONSTRUCTION AND MATERIALS: Built with a thick foam core sandwiched in a triple‑laminate face and a soft felt backing. The layered build reflects and absorbs heat while the felt side protects the windshield trim and provides a snug seating surface. The shade is lightweight yet rigid enough to hold its shape when placed against the glass.
CUSTOM FIT AND SIZING: Each unit is cut for a specific year/make/model windshield to maximize coverage. Because windshields vary in rake and curvature, the shade may leave small clearances around the rearview mirror or at the very edges to avoid stressing the foam core—this is a design choice to preserve insulation performance.
USAGE AND STORAGE: Installs easily by positioning against the inside of the windshield and securing with the vehicle’s sun visors if needed. When not in use, the shade folds into a compact stack for stowing behind a seat or in a trunk compartment. Durable materials stand up to repeated folding and daily handling.
WHAT'S INCLUDED: One custom-cut UVS100 windshield sunshade sized for the selected vehicle application. No mounting hardware required; simply place and secure with visors as desired.
CARE AND NOTES: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Expect excellent long-term performance where a robust foam core and laminated faces are desired. Due to windshield geometry, small gaps around mirrors or windshield sides can occur to protect the foam edge and maintain insulation properties.
Pros
- Custom-cut for specific year/make/model windshields
- Blocks up to 99% of UV and reduces interior heat
- Durable foam core with laminated faces and felt backing
Cons
- May leave small gaps near mirror or edges on some windshields
- Higher cost than basic reflective shades
- Can be awkward with certain dash carpets or trim
VerdictA purpose-built windshield sunscreen that delivers strong UV protection and thermal insulation thanks to its thick foam core and multi-layer face construction. It fits most model years listed closely, stores compactly, and outperforms thin foil shades at keeping cabins cooler. Some owners note gaps near mirrors or edges on certain windshield angles, so check fit expectations before buying.

Perfect fit and sturdy
High-quality sunshade — thick, rigid, and folds neatly. It matches my windshield shape well and stays in place with the sun visors. Would buy this again and recommend it.

Poor fit despite 'custom' claims
The custom-fit claim is overstated. Gaps along the edges and a very large mirror cutout let too much sun through. The core is rigid, but the openings defeat the purpose for me. Would expect better engineering at this price.

Durable and reliable
Works great on my 2002 Silverado 1500 extended cab. Sturdy construction and quick to fold. Been using it a year and it still looks new — very helpful without a garage.

Doesn't cover the full windshield
Didn’t cover every inch of the glass for me. Feels thick but is essentially a rigid board wrapped in reflective material. Folds and installs easily, but it doesn’t play well with my dash carpet so I stopped using it.

Heavy-duty, high quality
Very solid and snug fit. Much thicker and longer lasting than the thinner folding shades I’ve used. Took a couple tries to position without hitting the mirror, but once fitted it works great. Worth it.

Nearly ideal fit
Just put it in and it fits my 2005 Tahoe almost perfectly. Material feels substantial and close to OEM quality. Much better at keeping heat out than the thin foil type, though it is pricier.

Costly yet effective
Owned several of this brand’s sun visors and they consistently fit well. More expensive than cheap alternatives, but noticeably better at keeping the cabin cooler and protecting the dash.
