550 Nylon Paracord — 1,000 / 250 / 100 ft Options
Product description
Available in three lengths — 1,000-foot spools, 250-foot spools, or 100-foot hanks — this cord provides options whether you need bulk supply or a smaller project amount.
Constructed with a 100% nylon outer sheath and seven Type III twisted inner strands, the cord combines abrasion resistance with reliable internal strength. The design yields the classic 550-pound break strength expected from full-spec 550 paracord.
The sheath is tightly woven to resist fraying and environmental wear, while the nylon core strands give the rope its tensile capacity and modest elasticity. The cord can be melted cleanly for sealed ends and fusing typical with nylon construction.
Use it for camping and hiking tasks like securing tarps and tents, tying down cargo, bundling kindling, or lashing gear to packs. It’s also ideal for hunting, fishing, and emergency repair work where a dependable line is needed.
It’s popular in the crafting community for bracelets, lanyards, handles, necklaces, coasters, and protective wraps. The cord’s flexibility and consistent diameter make it easy to work with on knots, weaves, and macramé-style projects.
Whether stored in a workshop, kept in a survival kit, or used on the trail, this nylon paracord serves both functional outdoor needs and decorative craft purposes.

Good value; comes on sturdy plastic spool
I bought the 250-foot version and it arrived on a heavy-duty plastic reel rather than cardboard. The cord feels solid. I gave four stars because it’s not quite as rugged as the surplus paracord I’ve handled locally, but it’s perfectly fine for boot laces, survival kit use, and general convenience. I’d order it again.

Holds up well outdoors; color fades over years
Arrived fast as described — a neat 250' bright orange spool. I still use an older roll from four years ago as an outdoor boundary; the cord stayed strong but faded, so I replaced it for appearance.

Different inner layout but good performance
Inner strand layout isn’t exactly like the parachute cord I remember, but the color is spot on for my needs. Warning: when melted it gets extremely hot if you touch it with damp fingers. Overall satisfied.

Top-quality 550 cord — performs under heat and weather
I’ve tried many cords over the years, and this 550 nylon outperforms them. It’s true nylon, not polyester, and the inner strands are consistent and strong. I tested melting the ends with a heat gun, open flame, an arc, and a torch — the core sealed cleanly without bubbling or black edges. The outer sheath is tightly braided and resists fraying. Left out in rain during a longer test, it didn’t swell or lose form. Reliable, well-made, and exactly what you want for heavy-duty or precision work.

Durable and slightly elastic
Left it outside for years and it handled sun exposure well. Good cord with a bit of stretch; core and sheath are solid.

Colors and quality match expectations
Color matches the photo and the cord feels robust. It’s on the pricier side and some shades cost more, but the workmanship is excellent.

Arrived loose, not on a small spool
Expected a tiny spool but got a bag. Not an issue. Shows seven twisted inner strands under the sheath. Works fine.
