10-Pack Dutch Bucket Hydroponic System — 11L Bato Buckets
Product description
This kit includes ten Dutch (Bato) buckets, each holding about 11 liters (approximately 12" x 10" x 9"). Each bucket ships with a siphon elbow to enable recirculating nutrient solution through the row. Buckets are molded from plastic suitable for greenhouse or outdoor sheltered use and are available in dark or tan tones to suit different setups.
The system is intended for larger or vining crops — common choices include tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and eggplant — and uses a recirculation loop so nutrient solution flows from a reservoir through each bucket and back. Siphon elbows control the overflow and keep the water level consistent in each container, promoting efficient nutrient uptake while conserving water compared with flood-and-drain soil beds.
Growing media typically used in these buckets include perlite, coconut coir, and expanded clay pebbles, each providing drainage and support for roots. The buckets sit in a linear layout, and plant spacing can be adjusted along the rail or bench to fit different varieties and sizes. As your needs change, additional buckets can be added to extend the run, making this a scalable choice for both a hobbyist bench and larger greenhouse rows.
Assembly is straightforward: position the buckets, install the siphon elbows and connect the feed and return tubing to your pump and reservoir. Note that a separate pump, tubing and reservoir are required to complete a working recirculating loop; these are not included in the bucket pack.
Pros
- Water-efficient recirculating design
- Modular layout with adjustable spacing
- Well suited for heavy and vining crops
Cons
- Requires separate pump, tubing and reservoir
- Plastic can feel thin to some users
- Risk of transit damage if not handled carefully
VerdictA water-efficient, modular Dutch bucket setup that suits tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and other large or vining plants. It provides flexible spacing and easy expansion, though buyers should allow for a pump, tubing and careful handling in transit. Good for hobby and small commercial growers.

Solid unit — plan for tubing
Works well; remember to get tubing and a pump for the feed line.

Damaged parts and poor support
One bucket arrived crushed and some internal pieces were broken. The plastic seemed thin and translucent. I tried calling the support number but reached a full voicemail. It was easy to assemble and would have worked if not damaged.
