Waterproof Beekeeping Log Book — 3-Pack A5 Hive Inspection Journal
Product description
What you get
Three identical A5 inspection books (5.8 x 8.3 inches), each containing 100 pages of waterproof interior sheets and protected by a flexible PVC outer cover. Durable spiral binding lets each book open flat to 180° for comfortable writing while suited up. Combined, the set provides 300 inspection entries for seasonal and long-term recording.
How the pages are organized
Each inspection sheet follows a checkbox-first format with short fill-in fields so you can capture core hive data quickly—most inspections can be recorded in about five minutes. Sections include queen & brood status, hive condition, frames & comb, hive health observations, feeding actions, and honey harvest details. Pre-labeled fields capture hive ID, date, weather, and common pest/disease checks to keep entries consistent across inspections.
Construction and durability
The covers are made from PVC and the inner pages are water-resistant, allowing the notebook to be used in damp or rainy conditions; spilled moisture can be wiped away without smearing written entries. The pages are designed for outdoor use and resist tearing when handled in protective gear.
Why this format helps
The mix of checkboxes and short blanks reduces the time needed on each colony and eliminates scattered ad-hoc notes that make trend analysis difficult. With three books, you can number hives and keep year-long or multi-hive comparisons to track colony strength, honey yields, and plan swarm management based on accumulated data.
Who it’s for
Beginners benefit from the guided, jargon-free layout that turns observations into actionable items. Small-scale and professional keepers will appreciate the portability and consistency for multi-hive routines. The set also makes a practical present for new beekeepers or hobbyists wanting to adopt a systematic approach.

Good layout but needs more notes space
I usually keep this book at the home yard rather than carrying it to distant sites. The checkboxes and prompts match most routine checks and are easy to use in poor weather. My only gripe as a beginner is the lack of room for detailed observations—no space to note box counts or frame sizes. Still, it's the best waterproof log I've found so far.

Works well dry
I haven’t soaked them but they function perfectly for dry inspections and the forms are helpful.

Survived a wet test
I poured water onto the last page of one book to see what would happen. The liquid pooled and flowed but didn’t blur the ink. After wiping it dry the writing stayed readable. The paper seems lighter than other waterproof pads I've owned, and a mechanical pencil skated a bit before marking, but a ballpoint wrote smoothly. Overall the waterproof claim held up.
